Season 2002-3 Correspondence Chess

Worcestershire fielded three teams in this season. Worcestershire 1 played in Division 1 of the BCF Counties Correspondence Team competition for the Ward-Higgs trophy. Worcestershire finished on 12½ points equal with Gloucestershire, 7th-8th in the table after a successful claim for a win on adjudication on board 14. The top six boards were played by e-mail.

Worcestershire 2 played in Division 4 of the BCF Counties Correspondence Team competition for the Brown-Pond trophy. Worcestershire were placed 3rd-5th with Warwickshire and Lancashire on 6½ points. The top four boards are played by e-mail.

Worcestershire also played a team in the Midland Counties Correspondence Championship. In this competition, each player had two games against the same opponent. Play started June 2002 and finished at the end of May 2003.
