News10 Feb 2026. It is with sadness I report the sudden and unexpected passing of Paul Sharratt (Kinver) President of the league since 2018. Paul was also CEO of the Midland Counties Chess Union, general secretary of Worcestershire Chess Association, Safeguarding officer for the English Chess Federation and for many years he was a senior officer and team captain of Stourbridge Chess Club. |

10 Jan 2026. Young league player Preesh Gandhi (South Birmingham) played in the Warwickshire Junior Open tournament. Preesh finished with 3 points.
1 Sep 2025 Warley Quinborne enter team in Division 3
7 August 2025, John Fahy reports. Eleven teams enter League and Kinver CC admitted to the League.. The AGM re-elected President (Paul Sharratt), Secretary and Treasurer (John Fahy). The ratings boundaries for the leagues were retained: Division 2 maximum 1800, and Division 3 1600. Competition rule 4 was amended to take account of a club with two teams in the same division. Division 2 entries are: Kiddermister, Kinver, Oscott and South Birmingham and these teams will play each other home and away. Division 3 comprises: Halesowen A, Halesowen B, Kidderminster, Kynoch, Mercia, South Birmingham, Stourbrdge and will play a single round.
