Venue

The congress was at the King's School Worcester right in the heart of the city. See entry form for location and car parking. Hot beverages will be available for a donation and there will be a chess bookstall in aid of St Richard's Hospice.

Eligibile players

Members of Worcestershire Chess Association county teams and all members of affiiated clubs are eligible for entry to compete for Worcestershire county chess titles. Junior - under 16 years of age - players should be members of affiliated chess clubs, resident in Worcestershire, or attending school in Worcestershire.

Titles and prizes

Players compete for the titles: Worcestershire Individual Champion, Women's Champion, Veteran Champion, Senior Shampion, Junior Champion, and Minor Champion. There will also be a prize for the highest placed ungraded player.

Tournament format

There will be one Swiss Tournament and players will compete for Worcestershire Individual titles and trophies.

Bookstall and catering

Catering. The school is only a few minutes' walk from city centre fast food shops and outlets that sell snacks and sandwiches. Facilities to make tea or coffee will be available.

Bookstall. Andrew Farthing has put together a collection of second-hand chess books at very reasonable prices in aid of St Richard's Hospice. Cash sales only.

Entry Fees

Worcestershire Chess Association is most grateful to The King's School Worcester staff and Governors for allowing free use of facilities. This has enabled the association to keep costs to a minimum. For English Chess Federation members: adults £10 juniors under the age of sixteen £5. Players who are not ECF members should contact Ray Collett who will explain available options.
